AFO (Advance Fiber Optics, Inc.) is a single source for three critical solutions in the network build, documentation and maintenance process. These solutions are the leading network management software OSPInSight, data services and field services. AFO can install your network, document the installation, convert any existing data into an OSPInSight database, provide you with the software to view and edit your data and even maintain your physical network and network database thereafter.

OSPInSight® Software
AFO developed OSPInSight®, a user friendly, cost effective, GIS based network and resource management software system, that allows you to input, graphically visualize and analyze Inside Plant and Outside Plant fiber, coax and copper network assets and their interaction with each other.

Data Services
AFO can convert or migrate your network data into the industry leading OSPInSight system and offer you the option of ongoing data maintenance and consulting thereafter.

Field Services
AFO can gather your network data and provide fiber optic cable and equipment installation including FTTH, splicing and testing, network services, on-site documentation into OSPInSight and field auditing.

Company History
AFO, a privately-held company based in Salt Lake City, Utah, was founded in 1993 with the intent of introducing the high standards of aerospace fiber optic engineering to the US telecommunications industry. By 1995 AFO founders had successfully achieved their goal throughout the western United States providing fiber optic cable installation and splicing services to several of the largest US carriers.

Seeking to provide another logical solution to network owners, and to sooth their complaints of having to use software that “only programmers could use", AFO began developing a “better software system" for network documentation, one that would be more user intuitive and network engineer specific. OSPInSight network management software went beyond the customer’s expectations with its first release in 1997.

AFO’s third logical solution for network owners came at the request of its customers who determined that their lack of available internal labor would not allow them to populate their OSPInSight database within their ever shrinking delivery schedules and ever increasing demands for a faster ROI. With a large data conversion department, AFO provides sufficient DITs and project managers to assure on-time and in-budget delivery of completed, integrity-checked networks.

Today AFO has expanded to four US field services offices, one data services office, two US sales offices and a worldwide network of representatives distributing its “better software system", OSPInSight, to more than fifteen-hundred users across numerous industries.

Key People
Clay Arnell has 24 years engineering experience, twenty of which have been focused in construction management and design, with twelve specifically dedicated to telecommunications fiber optic network builds. His experience in consulting with customer firms on the design and construction of over 100 major network builds also brings the unique asset of the customer perspective to the OSPInSight development and AFO data services. Clay is a co-founder of AFO and serves as its President and CEO from the Salt Lake City, Utah office.

Randy Anderson has 14 years experience in fiber optic engineering involving everything from fiber optic aerospace guidance systems to telecommunications fiber optic network design, building, splicing and testing. He is the original designer of OSPInSight and now leads the development teams of its several applications. Randy is a co-founder of AFO and serves as its Vice President of Data Services from the Salt Lake City, Utah office.

Jerel Arnell has 23 years experience in operations management and business administration including seven years in the telecommunications industry. His background in performance analysis and productivity improvement techniques have involved employee groups of up to 350 individuals and over 30 million dollars in annual production. Jerel serves as Vice President of Operations from the Salt Lake City, Utah office.
