[Prior to IQGeo] all we had were basically hand-drawn field maps of where the fiber went and what the splice details were.

Requirements

Since Bellingham’s fiber infrastructure is critical for many stakeholders, the city needed a sophisticated and reliable fiber network management platform to document and maintain their networks. They built the fiber network on an ad-hoc basis and installed the fiber infrastructure within street light conduits that were already in the ground, making information about specific fiber routes and circuits hard to find.

Results

Every critical element of Bellingham’s fiber network is now documented, and they can easily share network knowledge across key personnel. They have access to the tools needed to address catastrophic issues effectively and get services back online as quickly as possible.
